About the Role We are looking for an Intermediate to Senior Accountant to join our friendly and professional accounting practice. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, preparing quality work, and being part of a supportive team environment. The role would suit an accountant who has experience in Australian public practice and is looking for a stable, long-term position with variety, client contact and room to grow. You will be working with a broad range of clients, including individuals, family groups, trusts, companies and small to medium businesses. You will be involved in tax compliance, financial statements, business advisory and client support. Depending on your level of experience, the role may include reviewing work, assisting junior staff and taking ownership of client relationships. Key Responsibilities Preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns Preparation and review of BAS, IAS and GST obligations Managing client relationships and responding to client queries Assisting with tax planning and business advisory matters Liaising with the ATO and other external stakeholders Reviewing and supporting junior team members where required Identifying opportunities to add value to client businesses Managing workflow and meeting client deadlines About Us We are a well-established accounting and taxation practice providing tax, accounting and business advisory services to a diverse client base. About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: • Experience working in an Australian public practice accounting firm • Strong technical knowledge in tax and accounting compliance • Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals • Good understanding of GST, BAS and small business tax matters • Experience using Handisoft is an advantage. We also use Xero and MYOB. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines • A friendly, professional and client-focused approach • The ability to work independently and as part of a team CA or CPA qualifications, or progress toward these qualifications, would be highly regarded but are not essential for the right person with strong public practice experience.
