About the Role Catholic Homes is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will support the operational financial management of Catholic Homes and contribute to various strategic initiatives under the direction of the Head of Finance & Reporting (HOFR). You will oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting while upholding our values of care and support. Key Accountabilities Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in preparing statutory financial statements and manage external audit functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Accounting Oversight: Oversee financial record-keeping operations, ensuring all financial transactions, including debtors and creditors, are efficiently and accurately processed. Reconciliation and Reporting: Regularly reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare accurate financial reports for all operational departments to maintain financial integrity. ILV Financial Management: Prepare ILV financial statements and generate quarterly reports for each ILV, ensuring precise allocation of costs assigned to each village. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with various operational departments to provide accurate financial insights and support strategic initiatives. Compliance Assurance: Ensure timely completion of financial reporting obligations to funding bodies and maintain adherence to relevant legislation and internal policies. Selection Criteria To be considered for this position you will demonstrate: A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent on the job experience is required. Proven experience in a financial management role, preferably in the aged care or healthcare sector. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to develop business relationships with external and internal stakeholders, authorities, organisations and individuals. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organisation. High level of computer accuracy. Understanding and knowledge of the aged care (residential, retirement and community-based care) and associated industries is highly desirable.
