About the Opportunity The role is responsible for providing generalist settlement service comprising information, referral and advocacy services for recently arrived refugee, humanitarian and family stream entrants and the dependents of skilled Migrants with low English proficiency in rural and regional areas, in their first five years in Australia. We currently have two Max-Term Part-Time vacancies available, with the possibility of extension and up to 30 hours per week: 1 position based at our Kwinana site 1 position based at our Perth Metropolitan site Benefits of working with MSC: Competitive annual salary plus super Not-for-profit salary packaging options up to $15,900 for general living expenses and $2,650 for entertainment benefits Free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Diverse and supportive team environment(Including MSC Social Club) Opportunities for growth and development Beny App access - providing thousands of exclusive perks and insights to enhance physical, mental, social, and financial wellbeing Key responsibilities include: Deliver generalist casework support, including information, referral and advocacy services to the SETS eligible clients Undertake needs-based intake and assessments for incoming clients to the SETS program Conduct follow up of medium-intensity cases in consultation with Senior Case Managers and/or SETS Team Leader Undertake group information sessions and workshops tailored to client needs and the ten priority areas in the National Settlement Services Standards Undertake community development and related initiatives as per the work program in culturally appropriate manner to promote smooth settlement of SETS eligible clients Build and maintain networks with relevant mainstream organisations to develop a positive relationship with mainstream providers which facilitate access to services for clients Attend network meetings and other meetings as required to promote the role of the funded program and to promote and represent client needs through participation at inter-agency, advisory and consultative forum Ensure services are delivered and maintained in accordance with contractual obligations Administer Emergency Relief to clients in accordance with Centre guidelines Provide written reports to the SETS Team Leader/Manager Obtain written feedback from clients regarding face-to-face services and group information session To proactively assist and contribute to the quality of services including continuous improvement and quality evaluations Liaise with the external and internal stakeholders related to case support needs Maintain client data, appropriate filing and record systems, including doing own administrative work, computer and word processing work Ensure that appropriate client records and services data are maintained, including data entry into Data Exchange System (DEX) Essential Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in social work, social welfare disciplines or experience in the delivery of community services Good understanding of the needs, concerns and aspirations of recently arrived refugees and humanitarian entrants from new and emerging communities Demonstrated advocacy, information dissemination and referral skills Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team environment and independently Computer literacy and word processing skills Demonstrated ability to manage competing tasks and able to priorities Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills Good knowledge of the multicultural and community service sector Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer services Desirable: Fluency in a language other than English (Newly arrived migrant and/or refugee community languages such as Burmese, Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Spanish, Karen etc in order to meet the needs of the clients we provide services to) Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD)backgrounds Applications must include a cover letter that addresses the selection criteria, as well as an updated CV.
