With revenue of ~$600m and a further ambitious growth plans, the organisation is investing in its leadership capability and finance function to support continued expansion and operational excellence. Employing 750–800 people across Australia and New Zealand, the business combines a strong balance sheet with a collaborative culture that is increasingly performance driven, commercially focused and forward looking. To support this next phase of growth, a newly created Financial Controller role has been established. Reporting to the CFO, this position will take ownership of the group controllership function and play a critical role in strengthening the finance engine of the business. The Role This is a broad and visible leadership role with responsibility across financial accounting, shared services, audit, tax, treasury and finance systems. The Financial Controller will own the integrity of financial reporting, strengthen internal controls and drive discipline, consistency and efficiency across finance operations. A key mandate will be to provide strong leadership across the team. You will inherit a capable and experienced group and will be responsible for elevating performance, building capability and fostering a high accountability environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the group controllership function, including financial accounting, shared services, tax, treasury, audit and ERP systems Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of all financial reporting (month end, year end and statutory) Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax obligations Drive operational excellence across AP, AR, collections and shared services, improving working capital outcomes Partner closely with the CFO and broader leadership team to enhance financial discipline and decision making Lead, coach and develop a sizeable finance team, lifting leadership capability and accountability Drive process improvement, automation and system optimisation across the finance function About You You are a proven finance leader with strong controllership experience and the ability to lead and influence in a growing organisation. You bring a balance of technical capability and people leadership, with the credibility to step into a visible leadership role. You will bring: CA/CPA qualification and a strong grounding in accounting and finance Experience leading financial controllership functions within complex environments Strong technical expertise across financial reporting, compliance, tax and treasury Demonstrated leadership capability, including developing teams and driving performance Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build relationships across the business A mindset of continuous improvement, curiosity and adaptability in a digitally evolving environment Benefits This is a rare opportunity to step into a newly created role with real scope and influence.
