The Project Office (PO) carries oversight and supports governance and program management of the department’s significant investment and reform initiatives across the youth justice and victim support portfolios and leads department reporting to oversight bodies. The PO maintains program and project management resources, advises on best practice methodologies and frameworks to support project delivery; and undertakes assurance reviews at important project and program decision gates to identify and mitigate against risks for the department. The purpose of this position is to provide high-level advice and lead the development and implementation of program management arrangements to support human services program reform and technology initiatives. As The Manager You Will Specifically Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Demonstrate an applied understanding of the youth justice context when preparing and reviewing submissions and reports, and to think and act critically in accordance with the strategic drivers and issues underpinning it. Monitor the effectiveness of project and program delivery, and work with projects to ensure risks and business impacts are managed. Provide expert advice and strategic input into the development and monitoring of program deliverables, ensuring alignment with government commitments. Provide strategic and tactical advice to minimise risk, improve delivery and realise benefits. Manage the contributions and expectations of stakeholders through developing and maintaining effective working relationships. Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to integrate change management activities into overall project plans. Coordinate briefs, submissions, documentation, and proposals and contribute a strategic perspective to responses.
