Job Description The AI Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the group’s artificial intelligence strategy. Operating within the Group CTO function, this role will provide leadership on AI technology choices, establish governance frameworks for responsible adoption, and guide prioritisation of AI use cases across the enterprise. The AI Architect will act as a key facilitator, aligning stakeholders and ensuring that AI initiatives deliver maximum business value while adhering to ethical and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Technology Direction: Evaluate, recommend, and standardise AI platforms, with a primary focus on Microsoft technologies, while also considering other leading tools and architectural patterns to ensure scalability, security, and interoperability. Governance & Oversight: Drive AI governance processes, including ethical guidelines, risk management, compliance, and decision-making frameworks for AI deployment. Use Case Prioritisation: Partner with business units to assess, prioritise, and oversee AI initiatives that align with enterprise strategy and deliver measurable value. Strategic Alignment: Set the overall direction for AI adoption, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, digital transformation programmes, and innovation agendas. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted adviser to executives and cross-functional leaders, facilitating informed decision-making on AI investments Qualifications To thrive in this role and help us deliver exceptional AI solutions for our clients, you’ll ideally bring: Technical Expertise Proven experience designing and implementing AI/ML solutions at enterprise scale. Deep understanding of Microsoft AI technologies Comprehensive expertise across leading AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI frameworks and cloud services. This includes hands-on experience with: AWS: SageMaker, Bedrock, Comprehend, Rekognition, and related services. Azure: Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, Form Recognizer, Cognitive Search, and similar. Google Cloud: Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, AutoML, and associated tools. You’ll also have strong capabilities with Large Language Models (LLMs), Python, PySpark, and Vector Databases. Strong grasp of data architecture, model lifecycle management, MLOps, and integration patterns. Knowledge of responsible AI principles, including fairness, transparency, privacy, and compliance. Strategic & Leadership Skills Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders. Experience developing AI strategies aligned with business goals and digital transformation initiatives. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value. Governance & Risk Management Experience establishing AI governance frameworks, including ethical guidelines, risk controls, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with global data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their implications for AI deployment Extensive Real-World Impact: A significant track record of hands-on experience designing, building, and successfully deploying production-grade Data and AI solutions at scale. You will ideally have worked in a professional services environment across key sectors such as government, finance, or telecommunications, showcasing your ability to deliver tangible results (e.g., sophisticated recommendation engines, personalised user experiences, advanced NLP features). Educational Background Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications in AI/ML, cloud architecture (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI Engineer, AWS Machine Learning Specialty), or enterprise architecture are highly desirable.
