Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS 5 HR Advisor- WHS and Wellbeing for a temp-transfer or 12-month non-ongoing opportunity with possibility for extension. The successful applicant will provide support, administration and coordination functions related to the WHS and Wellbeing programs of work including, secretariat support to the National Health and Safety Committee, management of the WHS mailboxes, provide procurement activities and generalised administrative tasks. It is expected that the applicant will work under limited direction. The successful applicant will demonstrate well-developed communication and organisational skills, initiative, an effective ability to work both independently and collaboratively within and across teams, an ability to set work priorities and excellent time management skills. They will be customer focussed, highly motivated, driven and adaptable to the Agencies working environment; and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain relationships across the organisation. The successful applicant will also demonstrate excellent written skills and well-developed technical HR/WHS and Wellbeing knowledge and expertise in relevant disciplines. High levels of discretion and integrity are expected as you will often be required to work with sensitive and confidential material. Primary outcomes and accountabilities: In addition to meeting the Integrated Leadership System profile of the APS 5 level, primary outcomes and accountabilities will involve: 1. Contribute to the work of the team including managing and coordinating administration activities, providing evidence-based advice to staff and senior management, and reporting on the Agency wellbeing program and Work Health Safety activities. 2. Provide support, ongoing monitoring and improvement to the WHS Management System. 3. Assist with completion of ergonomic assessments, Wellbeing Program initiatives, and WHS incident investigations including implementation and follow up of any corrective and preventative actions. 4. Undertaking reporting, managing contracts, workstation assessment program, procurement activities, Learning Management System (LMS) administration and ad hoc duties as required. 5. Case management of return-to-work cases and providing early intervention support. 6. Engage with internal and external stakeholders on potentially sensitive issues. 7. Provide secretariat support to the National Health and Safety Committee. 8. Management of the WHS inbox. 9. Undertake other functions to support work of the broader WHS, Wellbeing, Development & Capability team when required. A knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, or the ability to quickly gain this understanding. Qualifications: Qualifications in WHS/Human Resources and/or other relevant qualifications, highly desirable. Previous experience in similar roles with two or more years’ experience, highly desirable. Essential Requirements: The successful Applicant will need to be an Australian Citizen. The successful candidate will need to have the Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected) security clearance or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level. Ability to obtain and maintain a national police check.
