As Senior Engineer – Materials & Corrosion, you will serve as the technical authority for materials engineering within the Sustainable Infrastructure group, providing expert-level investigation, design, auditing and advisory services across water and wastewater assets. You'll champion Safety in Design (SiD) across the discipline, shape technical standards and specifications, and help the organisation stay at the forefront of materials engineering best practice. This is a high-trust, high-impact contract role for a Chartered Engineer who thrives in complex infrastructure environments. What you'll be doing Acting as the lead SME for all Materials & Cathodic Protection discipline matters across the organisation Providing specialist investigation, design and technical auditing of capital projects to time and budget Leading Safety in Design (SiD) consultation and delivery — coordinating across Asset Management, Operations, WHS, and Project Delivery Championing and evolving technical standards, codes of practice, and specifications for materials and corrosion prevention Conducting site audits and educating project managers, contractors and regional personnel on requirements and best practices Identifying and recommending the adoption of new and emerging technologies where benefits are clearly demonstrated Contributing to the discipline Knowledge Base and technical forums; supporting training workshops and presentations What you'll bring 10 years of professional engineering experience in a relevant discipline Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia — essential Specialist expertise in steel and concrete corrosion prevention — essential Owner's engineer experience — essential Demonstrated water industry experience — essential Experience in cathodic protection — highly regarded Proven track record in preparing and reviewing standards, codes of practice, and specifications related to materials and corrosion Affiliations with ACA or NACE — advantageous Current driver's licence; willingness to travel intra- and interstate on occasion How to apply Please submit your CV via the apply button below or email it directly to us.
