Job Info Location: MIDLAND, WA Salary: Hourly Rate Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description Job Description: The role is responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining internal and external structures, fixtures, fittings, and equipment within residential aged care facilities. The role ensures the environment remains safe, functional, accessible, and compliant with aged-care, building, and safety standards. The Carpenter works closely with maintenance, clinical, and management teams to support a high-quality living environment for residents. Key Duties: Perform carpentry construction, installation, repairs, and maintenance within aged care facilities. Install and repair doors, windows, cabinetry, flooring, skirting, handrails, and accessibility fixtures. Build/repair ramps, steps, grab rails, and other mobility support structures. Conduct routine, preventative, and reactive maintenance on buildings and fixtures. Inspect facility infrastructure and report defects or risks. Ensure all work complies with building codes, WHS requirements, and aged care safety standards. Operate tools and equipment safely; maintain a clean, hazard free work area. Work collaboratively with maintenance teams, contractors, and facility management. Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation accurately. Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience: Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification. Strong carpentry skills across framing, fit out, joinery, and repairs. Ability to interpret plans and maintenance instructions. Knowledge of WHS, building codes, and accessibility requirements. Skilled in safe use of tools and equipment. Safety focused, reliable, and detail oriented. Good communication and teamwork skills. Able to work independently and prioritise tasks. Experience in residential, commercial, or facility maintenance carpentry.
