The Basic Wings Course (BWC) Computer Systems Architect will be the primary on-site engineering point of contact for the BWC program, providing engineering support and coordination across the various ICT and Ground Based Training System (GBTS) Configuration Item (CI)’s in accordance with Lockheed Martin Australia’s internal processes and program specific objectives. Your responsibilities will include: The Basic Wings Course Computer Systems Architect is required to: Be the primary on-site engineering point of contact for the program management office, in service support team, development teams, subcontractors and the customer. Co-ordinate/conduct engineering investigations for the ICT and Ground Based Training System (GBTS) elements, including troubleshooting and documenting HW and SW issues. Co-ordinate/conduct engineering on-site integration and Verification and Validation activities for all ICT and Ground Based Training System (GBTS) tech insertions and major changes. Co-ordinate/support trade studies to select fit for purpose components and technologies. Support the development and implementation of ICT and GBTS changes in accordance with Engineering Change Management processes. Co-ordinate/support the development and delivery of Installation Data Pack (IDP) documentation. Support the development and delivery of ICT and GBTS Verification & Validation (V&V) documentation. Support the development and delivery of computer systems Bill of Material (BOM) documentation. About you: Extensive experience in installation/deployment, configuration and verification of ICT Hardware and Software; Extensive experience conducting Engineering Investigations (troubleshooting, change impact etc) for ICT Hardware/Software Extensive experience in the development of computer system infrastructure. Excellent analysis skills with an ability to analyse and develop alternatives to determine best value based on customer driven objectives. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors. Tertiary qualifications from an accredited institution in a related discipline (typically Information Technology), and/or equivalent experience/combined education. Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCDE, Network, RHCE, MCSAetc. are highly regarded. Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor small teams of computer systems architects. Desirable Experience with simulation devices including simulation environment software (MS Flight sim, Prepar3d etc) and simulation peripherals (simulator controls, VR headsets, projectors etc) Experience working in Software Development programs; Demonstrated experience working within an engineering or project environment (preferably in the defence industry). Demonstrated experience working in a dispersed project team environment. Excellent understanding of Configuration Management, including Software Configuration Management. Extensive experience working on Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence. Experience working with industry-standard architectural frameworks or methodologies, such as Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
