Your new company You'll be joining a large and highly respected South Australian education institution undergoing significant transformation across its IT and digital capabilities. The organisation operates within a strong governance framework and is focused on improving workforce planning, investment management, and operational delivery through high-quality data, reporting, and insights. Your new role As a Data Analyst, you will establish and uplift a structured, fit-for-purpose workforce and portfolio analytics capability within IT. Working within a clearly defined governance model, you will leverage enterprise systems (such as HR platforms including PeopleSoft) as authoritative sources of data, while developing supplementary data models, reporting, and tooling to support operational insight and decision-making. Key responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining an IT-specific workforce data layer, integrating HR, finance, and operational data Delivering actionable insights across workforce capacity, capability, utilisation, vacancies, contracts, and resourcing risks Supporting resource capacity and allocation analysis across projects and operational services Producing integrated reporting across workforce, financial, and IT investment portfolios Establishing regular operational and executive dashboards for governance and planning Acting as a data steward, improving data quality, definitions, and reporting consistency Transitioning fragmented, spreadsheet-based processes into automated and scalable reporting solutions Partnering with HR, Finance, PMO, and delivery teams while maintaining clear system-of-record boundaries What you'll need to succeed Proven experience as a Data Analyst working across workforce, HR, finance, or portfolio datasets Strong capability integrating data from multiple enterprise systems, including HR platforms such as PeopleSoft Advanced analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights Experience building data models, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly across HR, Finance, and IT functions An understanding of governance-led environments and the distinction between systems of record and systems of insight The ability to work autonomously and uplift analytics maturity in evolving environments Experience within higher education or large public sector organisations (desirable) What you'll get in return A 6-month contract within a stable and purpose-driven organisation Exposure to high-impact workforce and IT investment analytics initiatives A collaborative, governance-focused environment with clear accountabilities Competitive remuneration, commensurate with skills and experience Hybrid working arrangements, with a minimum on-site presence required What you need to do now If you're interested in this opportunity, click "Apply Now" to submit your updated CV.For a confidential discussion, please contact Rajat Jha at Hays.
