Your new role As a Senior Fabric Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering robust, metadata-driven data pipelines and Lakehouse solutions. You will work across the full data lifecycle, building ingestion frameworks, transformation pipelines, and high-quality data models to support analytics and business decision-making. What you'll need to succeed Key Responsibilities: Design and develop metadata-driven ingestion pipelines from SQL Server into Microsoft Fabric Build and maintain Bronze, Silver, and Gold Lakehouse layers Develop Bronze to Silver transformation pipelines using SQL or Dataflows Gen2 Create and optimise Gold layer tables for semantic modelling Build Silver to Gold transformation pipelines Maintain and manage code using Azure DevOps and Git Ensure best practices in data governance, RBAC, and workspace segregation Technical Skills & Experience: Strong experience in Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or Databricks environments Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Lakehouse architectures Experience with data engineering frameworks and metadata-driven ELT pipelines Solid understanding of Delta Lake optimisation and OneLake Experience with medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) Hands-on experience with Git and deployment pipelines Experience required: 5 years' experience designing and developing modern cloud data platforms (ELT, Lakehouse) Proven track record in building ingestion frameworks Experience with Fabric or equivalent platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS) Relevant certification such as: Microsoft DP-600 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) or Azure Data Engineer certification What you'll get in return Opportunity to work on cutting-edge data technologies Exposure to a large-scale transformation program Competitive daily rate and potential contract extension Collaborative and innovative working environment What you need to do now Share your CV at sourabh.kumar@hays.com.au If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
