This is a Manager Performance & Conduct role with Queensland Corrective Services based in Brisbane, QLD, AU Queensland Corrective Services Role Seniority - mid level, senior More about the Manager Performance & Conduct role at Queensland Corrective Services The Performance And Conduct (P&C) Group Works In Partnership With The Organisation To Provide Strategic, Tactical And Operational Advice And Support To The Department In The Key Areas Of discipline and conduct case management; management and resolution of employee performance and conduct matters, where the conduct is unlawful; and advocacy in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission with respect to individual employee matters. The P&C Group is responsible for the end-to-end coordination and management of people-centred communications with complainants/victims, subject officers and local management in relation to discipline and other conduct processes. Additionally, the P&C Group provides legal practice management functions, paralegal and administrative services and support for the Policy and Legal Command. In this role you will manage a team of specialist employees who partner with leaders across the department to deliver expert strategic, tactical and operational advice and support that ensures employee performance and conduct matters are addressed, managed and resolved in a timely and consistent manner. Additionally, the Manager P&C Group will ensure effective and efficient legal practice management functions, paralegal and administrative services and support for the Policy and Legal Command. The primary accountabilities of the Manager Performance and Conduct include: Provide management, support and coaching to administration stream staff in the Workplace Law Group. Lead team performance and manage resources with agility to ensure alignment with priorities and changing circumstances. Manage the timely and efficient provision of legal practice management functions, paralegal and administrative services and support for the Policy and Legal Command. Manage the employee conduct framework and systems ensuring they are contemporary and fit for purpose. Implement and maintain suitable policies, procedures and resources to effectively and efficiently manage employee performance and conduct matters within Workplace Law. Ensure employee conduct matters are managed in compliance with relevant legislation and frameworks. Proactively support executive leaders to achieve timely and consistent outcomes with their management of employee underperformance and conduct matters. Provide expert contemporary advice and coaching that empowers executive leaders on all aspects of employee performance and conduct management which require consideration under the Public Sector Act 2022. Lead change and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Build and maintain a strong, solutions driven, customer service relationship with key stakeholders of the department across the State. Develop and implement a diverse range of contemporary strategic workforce initiatives that drive organisational performance and culture. Interpret and communicate data and metrics to support business decisions and to measure the impact of workforce investments on business performance. Foster a performance driven culture that emphasises a human centred approach. As required, represent the department and perform advocacy in various commissions and tribunals including the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission on individual employee matters. Commit to proactively contribute to the success of the Policy and Legal Command, demonstrated through collaborative and collegiate behaviour as a member of the P&C Group and a willingness to provide support across the range of Policy and Legal Command initiatives and activities.
