Overview: Location: Perth (WA) Salary: c. $260,000 Superannuation Bonuses Sector: Mining/Resources Services Scope: Multisite (APAC footprint) Focus: Commercial partner to Ops, long-term contract profitability lifecycle management Background fit: Mining services / infrastructure / engineering / project-led environments The Opportunity Our client is a specialist services provider to the mining and resources sector, supporting major operators across Australia and an expanding APAC footprint. With long-term, profitable contracts in place and more in motion, they’re looking to appoint a senior finance leader to own commercial performance across the contract lifecycle, from forecasting and cost-to-serve through to margin protection, reporting, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role based in Perth, with some potential regional travel required at times (Pacific Islands). Role Profile Reporting to the Group CFO and executive team, you will: Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting across a portfolio of long-term B2B services contracts Build clear visibility of contract profitability, cost drivers, and forward risk (labour, materials, logistics, mobilisation) Strengthen contract lifecycle management: financial governance, change control, claims/variations support, and margin protection Partner closely with operations to drive practical improvements in processes and decision-making, without adding unnecessary bureaucracy Improve the quality and usefulness of management reporting (what’s happened, what’s changing, what we need to do next) Challenge current ways of working and implement affordable, pragmatic enhancements that move the dial Support the business’s broader APAC growth agenda, including occasional offshore stakeholder engagement Successful Candidate Profile Senior commercial finance leadership experience within mining services, resources, infrastructure services, engineering services (large project-led B2B environments) Strong capability in long-term contract financial management (cost-to-serve, margin analysis, escalation mechanisms, pricing, variations, lifecycle reporting) A grounded understanding of labour and materials cost pressure, plus logistics/mobilisation impacts Confidence operating as a genuine business partner to operations; able to challenge constructively and influence outcomes A track record of improving processes and reporting in a way that’s practical and adopted (not just “pretty spreadsheets”) Comfort with travel and working across dispersed stakeholders in regional/offshore environments CA/CPA/CIMA qualification Apply Now If you meet the key criteria and believe you're a strong fit for the role, please apply now or contact Liam Hassell at Recruitment Labs on 61 for a confidential discussion.
