We’re looking for an experienced and creative Strategic Marketing & Communications Lead to champion the Playgroup NSW brand and drive growth across digital, community, and partnership channels — while also contributing to revenue generation through fundraising and strategic partnerships. YOUR PURPOSE Reporting directly to the CEO, this hands-on role is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that grow awareness, attract members, strengthen engagement, and showcase the impact of Playgroup NSW. In addition, you’ll lead initiatives that diversify income streams through sponsorships, fundraising campaigns, and collaborative partnerships. You’ll work closely with our external creative agency, internal teams, and a Marketing & Events Coordinator who reports to you. From strategic planning to campaign delivery, this is your opportunity to make a tangible difference for families and communities across NSW. Key Responsibilities Lead, implement and monitor our strategic marketing and communications strategy – Develop and implement annual marketing plans aligned to PGNSW’s vision and priorities that enhance presence and reputation, balancing an audience of sector and government along with an audience of families and children across different platforms with different campaigns and objectives. End-to-end marketing and communications – Oversee website, social media, newsletters, advertising, policy papers, brand development, content management, media and public relations with consistency at every touchpoint. Drive advocacy, growth and revenue generation – Lead strategic initiatives for government relations, funding diversification including grants, partnerships, sponsorships, fundraising campaigns, social enterprise opportunities, and other tested approaches. Plan and deliver campaigns, key events and compelling content – Manage creative development, content, and digital advertising to promote programs, events, significant days, and partnerships. Collaborate cross-functionally – Partner with internal teams to support their marketing and collateral needs, drive growth of services, identify campaign opportunities, align messaging, and showcase impact. Evaluate and improve – Track and analyse campaign performance, engagement metrics and ROI to drive continuous improvement. Budget and vendor management – Manage marketing budgets, monitor expenditure and oversee agency and supplier relationships. Support events and partnerships – Oversee impactful marketing for family, community and fundraising events, ensuring strong brand presence and sponsor visibility. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE You’re a creative, strategic and operational marketer who enjoys leading marketing and communications from end-to-end with a real strategic eye — from concept to delivery. You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities and thrive in a collaborative, purpose-led environment. You’re strategic yet hands-on – you plan and then execute with success, leading a small but mighty team.
