About the Opportunity: Red Arrow Australia is recruiting on behalf of our client, a 100% Indigenous-owned construction and engineering contractor delivering civil, mechanical, structural, and infrastructure solutions across the mining and government sectors with a strong operational presence in the Pilbara, our client is recognised for safe project delivery, operational excellence, and meaningful Indigenous participation across major resource developments. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their team on a 2:1 FIFO roster. Role Overview: The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of mechanical construction and installation works across active mine sites in the Pilbara. This is a frontline leadership role overseeing mechanical crews and subcontractors delivering fixed plant, piping, structural, and equipment installation packages in accordance with project specifications, schedule, and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Site Leadership & Supervision: Supervise daily mechanical construction and installation activities Lead mechanical trades, riggers, boilermakers, fitters, and subcontractors Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings Allocate labour, plant, and materials to meet project milestones Mentor Leading Hands and support workforce development Project Execution: Oversee works including: Fixed plant equipment installation Conveyor systems and crushers Structural steel erection Piping systems (HDPE, steel, slurry, water, compressed air) Pumps, valves, tanks, and mechanical assemblies Ensure works align with IFC drawings and specifications Coordinate lifting and installation activities with crane crews Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions where required Safety & Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture Ensure compliance with WA mining regulations and client safety systems Participate in JHAs, Take 5s, and permit processes Manage high-risk activities including lifting, confined space, and working at heights Support incident investigations and corrective actions Quality & Commissioning Support: Ensure compliance with ITPs and QA/QC procedures Conduct inspections and manage hold points Coordinate pressure testing, alignments, and equipment checks Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities Maintain accurate daily reporting and documentation Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with client representatives and site stakeholders Attend coordination and progress meetings Provide technical input to resolve construction challenges Represent the company professionally on-site Essential: 5 years’ experience supervising mechanical works in mining or heavy industry Experience on remote FIFO mine sites (Pilbara preferred) Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Boilermaking, or similar Strong fixed plant installation background Ability to work 2:1 FIFO Current Australian Driver’s Licence Desirable: Section 26 / Statutory Supervisor (WA) Experience with major mining clients (FMG, Rio Tinto, BHP) First Aid certification High Risk Work Licence Technical Capability: Ability to interpret mechanical and structural drawings Knowledge of mine site permits and isolation systems Understanding of lift coordination and planning Experience with QA documentation and hold points Familiarity with commissioning and mechanical testing processes What’s on Offer Exposure to major Pilbara mining construction projects Long-term pipeline across civil, structural, and mechanical works Career progression within a growing Indigenous-owned organisation Strong safety-focused and values-driven culture If you are a hands-on Mechanical Supervisor ready to lead high-performing crews on major Pilbara projects, please ensure your resume has TWO contactable references.
