An established engineering business is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of capital equipment projects, with a strong focus on bulk materials handling. This role sits within a collaborative engineering and design team and offers end-to-end exposure from concept and tender support through to commissioning and site support. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical designs, managing technical risk, supporting sales and project teams, and contributing to the ongoing development and standardisation of engineered products. Key Responsibilities Deliver mechanical engineering and design solutions across all project phases, from initial enquiry and tender support through to installation, commissioning and site supportDesign and engineer capital equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian and international standardsSupport product standardisation, cost control and continuous improvement initiativesManage and communicate technical, commercial and design risks in collaboration with project and engineering stakeholdersBrief and coordinate internal drafting resources and external engineering partnersProvide technical advice and support to project managers, estimators, sales teams and tradesMaintain strong client relationships, advising on design decisions and risk managementSupport product development, innovation and selected R&D activitiesReview, check and approve mechanical designs and ensure appropriate risk assessments are completedPrepare and contribute to technical documentation, manuals and handover materialsAttend site as required to provide technical oversight and support About You Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering3-5 years' experience in a mechanical design or engineering roleProven experience with bulk materials handling equipmentStrong 3D modelling capability and experience with conveyor design software (or equivalent)High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsConfident communicator, comfortable engaging with clients and cross-functional teamsAble to manage multiple priorities and work across concurrent projects Systems & Tools 3D CAD and mechanical modelling toolsConveyor design and analysis software (or equivalent)FEM and engineering analysis toolsMicrosoft Office suite Additional Information Occasional local, domestic or international travel may be requiredRole may include site-based work and exposure to operational environments Apply now or contact Kevin Griffin for more information: kevin.griffin@millsrecruitment.com
