Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipment. Inspect engines, braking systems, steering, suspension and other vehicle components to identify faults. Repair or replace defective parts, including brakes, suspension components, steering parts, and related systems. Carry out tyre fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment to ensure correct vehicle handling and safety. Remove and refit mechanical components such as engines, transmissions, and suspension assemblies when required. Test vehicles after servicing and repairs to ensure faults are rectified and vehicles are safe to operate. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean workshop. Requirements Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent). Minimum 1-2 year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic. Experience working with vehicle servicing, tyres, suspension, and braking systems. Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver licence preferred.
