The Opportunity To provide technical support to Council waste facilities and high level customer service to the Council Services department. Major industries in the area include Coal Mining, Power Generation, Beef Production, dryland cropping and irrigation such as Lucerne and Cotton. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain Council’s Waste Management System Day to day administration of Council’s kerbside waste and cardboard collection services which includes: new bin and replacement bin orders missed service resolution problem bins, and month-end reporting for invoice and contract KPI monitoring Undertake weighbridge administration activities associated with sustainable recycling and waste reduction management Perform system administration tasks on Council’s weighbridge software including user maintenance, maintenance of waste types, customer records and fees and charges Input data and produce reports from a range of specialised software applications Collect, verify and adjust waste data records to ensure all information is accurate and accountable for submission to regulatory authorities Assist with the development of waste education, marketing and promotional material including the dayto-day administration of Council social media platform Respond to waste and recycling related enquiries from internal and external customers in a prompt and professional manner Liaise with DrumMuster agents and collection points to input regular DrumMuster reporting and reimbursements Draft routine correspondence and reports Monitor tasks and register documents into Council’s Electronic Document and Records Management System Prepare and process financial transactions and related correspondence Operate weighbridge at Council’s landfill, collecting litter and reporting issues as required Contribute to the promotion of the image of the Council and the maximisation of good public relations Liaise with clients, other Council staff, the public, consultants, utility and government authorities in the performance of duties, including providing and obtaining information Undertake routine administrative tasks as required by the position, e.g. timesheets Assist senior staff to continuously improve work processes and develop new practices, as required Participate in training, exercises and response to disaster management and recovery as required Undertake other relevant duties as directed, consistent with skills, competence and training. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCE REQUIREMENTS Compulsory Queensland class ‘C’ manual driver’s licence (minimum requirement – provisional licence) Certificate IV in Business Administration or relevant equivalent experience Queensland Construction White Card or Blue Card (General Safety Induction). Desirable Certificate III in Waste Management.
