Your key responsibilities: Preparation of general ledger reconciliations in accordance with the framework, and collection and collation of general ledger reconciliations completed across the Department of Health, ensuring that all issues are followed up and resolved to ensure the integrity of the general ledger. Collection, consolidation, and review of multiple divisional registers, including the Consultancy Register, the Special Payments Register, and the Loss Register. Complete month end tasks to facilitate efficient and effective monthly reporting, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately within demanding time frames. This includes maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing journals and work papers, as well as providing professional guidance to other teams within the Department when identifying and resolving emerging financial accounting issues. Role fit The essential requirements for this role are: Demonstrates a good understanding of, and recent experience in assisting with, the practical application of Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Reporting Requirements for Queensland Government Agencies, relevant legislation and contemporary financial management practices and policies. Demonstrated experience in assisting with the preparation of comprehensive and wellrounded advice to management and other stakeholders and in assisting with the review of policies and procedures. Demonstrated involvement and success in contributing to continuous improvement programs and initiatives in the areas of operational financial accounting, with demonstrated ability to work within and thrive in successful teams.
