$35-$40 per hour super (negotiable based on experience, skill and qualifications) Full-time permanent role Opportunity to work with a leader in the building products manufacturing industry Our client is a dynamic industry leader in the building products industry; manufacturing, supplying and installing products to commercial, industrial and residential sectors. Due to growth, we are an experienced and highly organised Factory Floor Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of their manufacturing facility in the Sydney region. As a Factory Floor Manager, you will be responsible to the General Manager for ensuring the smooth functioning of the production processes, managing a team of workers, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing efficiency. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of manufacturing practices in the fencing industry. The role: Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the factory floor and fabrication processes to meet production targets and customer demands. Monitor production schedules, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to optimize workflow and minimize downtime. Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure a consistent supply of raw materials and components required for production. Collaborate with the Delivery Manager to ensure pick up and deliveries are correctly timed, loaded/unloaded and correct materials as per the job sheet are loaded onto delivery trucks. Implement quality control measures to ensure adherence to specifications and standards for all manufactured fencing products. Ensure yard skips are regularly emptied as well as keeping the factory floor and yard clear of rubbish and non-required materials. Ensure accurate time recording and collation of timesheets for submission by 9am each Thursday. Ensuring laneways marked with yellow lines are kept clear at all times. Supervise and lead a team of fabricators, including welders, cutters and labourers. Train, mentor, and motivate employees, fostering a culture of teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement. Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback to enhance individual and team performance. Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within the factory including WHS compliance. Identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve safety and reporting, productivity and waste reduction. Coordinate with the General Manager maintenance, repairs and upgrades of machinery and equipment including forklift trucks, welding and cutting benches and machines. What we're looking for: Experience within a similar role in a manufacturing or service related industry Drives licence Forklift licence Strong ethical leader and management skills Excellent problem-solving, and communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organisational and time management skills without compromising standard, service or quality. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proactive, collaborative, and able to work both independently and within a team.
