Aspirante is working with a local government organisation in Brisbane to assist in their search for a Data Engineer to join a high-performing Data & Technology team delivering impactful data solutions that support evidence-based decision making. You’ll work in a modern data environment, collaborating with data scientists, BI developers, and engineering peers to build secure, high-performance data pipelines, support enterprise analytics, and contribute to real-world outcomes across safety, regulation, and operational performance. - Contract to June 30th 2026 - Paying up to $1000 incl super per day - 50/50 Hyrbid setup (Brisbane) What you’ll do • Deliver high-quality data solutions as part of a high-performing Agile/SCRUM team • Interpret business requirements and estimate, prioritise, and deliver work effectively • Build, optimise and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and workflow automation • Support and enhance existing infrastructure, deployments, and environments • Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, monitoring, and RCA • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional team members • Conduct feasibility studies, POCs, and platform improvement research • Contribute to CI/CD, testing, code reviews, and secure release practices What you bring • 4 years’ experience as a Data Engineer • Strong ETL/ELT, data modelling, RDBMS, schema design and SQL expertise • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft BI Stack, DevOps • Proficiency in Python, Java, R, DAX or Power Query M • Understanding of big data concepts — data lakes, streaming, governance, lineage • Ability to solve complex problems, analyse systems, and optimise performance • Strong communication skills, collaboration mindset, and attention to detail • Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments To apply in strict confidence, click the apply now button.
