The key duties of the position include The Role In the Directorate of Military Justice Performance and Review within the Office of the Inspector-General of the ADF, System & Data officer will be responsible to: Support the Longitudinal Study team to determine trends, themes and issues of concern identified in the final Audit reports. Preparing and contributing data tables to final audit and longitudinal reports, statistic catalogues and strategic reporting briefs. Analyse and report on trends, patterns and insights from MJPA reports and focus group surveys. Responsible for completing, analysing and implementing data analysis methodologies, tools and techniques. Identify and undertake analysis to structure, solve and provide advice on complex data problems, including gathering and exploring data and meta-data from a variety of sources. Work closely with the Audit Operations team to improve existing audit reporting tools, surveys, spreadsheets, workflows, programs, planning processes and resources. Ability to work independently and part of a small team. The Systems & Data officer will also provide support to other staff functions within Office of the IGADF as needed. About our Team The Office supports the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force (IGADF) in their statutory functions of overseeing the effectiveness of the military justice system. The Directorate of Military Justice Performance and Review (DMJPR) assists the IGADF to provide the Chief of the Defence Force with a mechanism for audit and review of the military justice system, independent of the ordinary chain of command, by conducting performance reviews of the military justice system, including internal audits, in accordance with section 110C of the Defence Act 1903. DMJPR is responsible for improving the frequency of Military Justice Performance Audits and conducting longitudinal studies of all Audit Reports every two years to determine trends, themes and issues of concern, and provide the outcomes of this analysis to the Chief of the Defence Force, the Minister for Defence and the Minister for Defence Personnel. Our Ideal Candidate You will demonstrate: Good communication and writing skills, In-depth knowledge and understanding of data analytics, including data mining, statistical analysis, predictive modelling and data visualisation. Experience in writing, preparing and contributing to comprehensive reports and statistic catalogues. Experience in and understanding of statistical analysis, hierarchy structures, mathematics, computer programing or Information systems.
