The role We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Middle Years Teacher (Maths/PE) to join our dedicated teaching team in 2026. This is a full-time ongoing position based at Rivercrest Christian College, teaching across Years 6 to 10. This role commences on 21st January, 2026. As part of our learning community, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, inquiry-based education grounded in Christian values and the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. You’ll support students in their academic growth, spiritual development, and personal wellbeing, while working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families. Key Responsibilities Pastoral Care Provide strong pastoral support and build trusted relationships with students. Encourage students in their Christian faith, character development, and wellbeing. Partner with families to support students holistically. Lead regular class devotions and contribute to the spiritual life of the College. Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Teaching and Learning Plan and deliver engaging Maths and PE programs using an inquiry-based approach aligned with the IB framework. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing meaningful feedback. Use effective classroom management to promote a focused and respectful learning space. Integrate technology and innovative practices into teaching and learning. Professional Engagement Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development and assessment. Engage in ongoing professional learning, including IB training. Contribute to team culture by sharing expertise and resources. Administration and General Duties Maintain accurate student records and communicate regularly with parents. Participate in co-curricular programs, excursions, camps, and yard duties. Uphold College policies, procedures, and professional standards. Be an active participant in staff meetings and College events. Key Selection Criteria Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). Demonstrated experience and success teaching Maths and PE at the Middle Years level Strong knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the International Baccalaureate framework and inquiry-based learning. Commitment to the Christian ethos, mission, and values of the College. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Strong organisational and time management skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. High level of ICT proficiency in teaching and learning applications.
