The Opportunity This is an opportunity to work with an engaged and enthusiastic team to implement the Multilateral Placements Program (MPP) and the Multilateral Engagement Grants (MEG), helping position Australia and Australians across the multilateral system. This role has incredible impact and exposure and will work with partners across the departments diplomatic network, the United Nations, the APS, likeminded partners and international organisations. High impact role supporting grant programs throughout the entire grant lifecycle Secure an initial 12-month labour hire contract with extension options The Role The MPP deploys APS staff to multilateral organisations for placements of one to three years that support Australia’s interests and builds their multilateral expertise. This role will be central to implementing the MPP and liaising with the Departments network of Australians in the UN and various multilateral organisations across the globe. The MEG provides grants to developing countries and multilateral organisations to advance Australia’s interests. Key Duties: Develop, negotiate and manage grants, contracts and agreements, in close consultation with corporate teams and other government agencies Assist with preparing briefs, reports, minutes, and other related documentation relevant to the management of MEG and MPP programs Advise and deliver on MEG and MPP implementation requirements, including managing selection processes and organising pre-departure briefings for successful candidates Assist with procurement and other corporate processes as required, including budget management and payment processing Develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders including multilateral organisations, foreign governments, Department desks and posts and other APS agencies Maintain effective corporate records relating to the implementation of the Programs, and perform other duties as required The Ideal Person Our ideal candidate will be proficient in grants management, including current non-ODA grants processes, and experienced in managing complex programs. Good written and interpersonal communication skills are crucial to your success. You will be a chameleon with the ability to adapt your style according to the situation including managing information with discretion. The Branch is looking for a team player who can work collaboratively and contribute to an inclusive and supportive team culture. In addition, you will have: Sound understanding of the Commonwealth Grants Framework, Commonwealth Grant Rules and Principles and PGPA Act Comprehensive knowledge of the grant lifecycle to support grant round design and development of grant artefacts. Inclusive of conducting assessments, co-ordinating grant processes and the establishment of grants and grant reporting Possess strong skills and experience in program management, including contract management, implementation and budget management - Industry or international grants administration experience is preferred You must have a current NV1 Security Clearance at a minimum and be an Australian Citizen to be considered.
