About the position: We’re on the hunt for a Frontend Engineer to drive the architectural vision, development standards, and frontend excellence for some of Australia’s most visited e-commerce websites. At Winning Group, you’ll take charge of major frontend initiatives, mentor engineers, and lead a collaborative squad focused on delivering pixel-perfect, high-performing user experiences. Development & Architecture Contribute to the planning, scoping, and estimation of frontend development tasks based on supplied requirements. Provide effort estimates for planned and upcoming sprint tasks. Develop features and updates in alignment with UX specifications, ensuring pixel-perfect implementation and responsive UI across devices. Write and execute comprehensive unit tests covering developed tasks, ensuring reusable and testable UI components. Continuously seek and implement ways to improve processes and frontend architecture, both as part of the team and as an individual contributor. Team Collaboration Actively participate in team Scrum activities, including stand-ups, sprint planning, review, and retrospective. Participate in peer code reviews, contributing to and promoting coding standards across the team. Communicate and collaborate with product management to clarify, refine, and expand on complex development requirements. Engage with QA to ensure tasks are properly tested and meet quality benchmarks before delivery. Share knowledge and best practices within the team. Administration & Stakeholder Engagement Contribute to the creation and maintenance of comprehensive system documentation in line with updated features and processes. Undertake and promote continuous training and upskilling within the team to keep abreast of the changing technology landscape. Engage in regular feedback loops to continuously improve individual and team performance. Act as a technical point of contact for assigned frontend projects, communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications: 3 years of professional experience in web development. Experience in implementing frontend projects and features. Understanding of the full software development life cycle within an Agile/Scrum environment. Technical Expertise Strong experience with a leading front-end framework (Angular 2 highly regarded) Demonstrated expertise in HTML5, CSS3 (SASS), and JavaScript (ES6, TypeScript). Demonstrated knowledge of modular code design, architectural patterns, and state management (e.g., NgRx). Ability to construct pixel-perfect user interfaces based on design specifications. Experience in responsive UI development and cross-browser compatibility. Ability to write highly reusable, testable UI components, with a strong emphasis on unit and integration testing. Experience with team/work management tools such as Jira. Experience with version control tools such as Git. Experience with build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite) and CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployment. Soft Skills Excellent verbal and written communication, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
