You'll be working closely with an experienced Assistant Director, making this a great development opportunity to strengthen your APS career. The Role Key responsibilities include: Undertaking financial reporting and internal budgeting activities related to the department’s Budget Monitoring and tracking capital NPPs (New Policy Proposals) and coordinating information for the external budget Movement of Funds process Leading coordination of the Agency Budget Submission and contributing to improvements in external budget tasks Contributing to and supporting the implementation of enhanced financial policies and reporting capabilities The Ideal Person You are an experienced accountant with a solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting. Ideally, you have knowledge of budgeting principles within the APS. You’re likely to come from one of the following backgrounds: Experience in a Big 4 or consulting firm, working with Federal Government clients on accounting or finance-related engagements Experience in a large commercial organisation as a Management Accountant APS6-level experience in internal or external budgeting, with a stable work history and a track record of strong performance To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen and hold a NV1 or NV2 security clearance.
