The Opportunity We have multiple vacancies at the APS5 and APS6 level, offered as non-ongoing 12-month contracts, with the potential for permanency. These are genuine vacant positions. The Role You’ll provide expert financial and management accounting support, with a focus on project accounting, financial systems, and compliance with government frameworks. Your key responsibilities also include: Preparing and monitoring budgets, including program budgets, to track expenditure against forecasts and provide variance analysis Assisting with month-end financial processes, financial modelling, and analysis Managing stakeholder relationships by providing financial insights and supporting teams through budgetary and operational changes Ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting The Ideal Person You are an experienced Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner with strong communication skills. You thrive in collaborative environments and take pride in delivering high-quality, accurate work. Known for your attention to detail, you take a proactive approach to problem-solving and add real value to the teams you support. Experience with SAP, TM1, and strong Excel skills will be highly regarded. A degree in a relevant field is essential, and CA/CPA (or active progression towards it) is highly desirable. You’re likely to come from one of the following backgrounds: Big 4 or consulting firm, with a focus on Federal Government engagements in management accounting or budgeting APS experience as a Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner at the APS5 or APS6 level, with strong tenure Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a NV1 security clearance.
