The key duties of the position include The Role Enterprise Governance Branch has exciting and unique opportunities for motivated professionals to lead teams in Governance as a part the strategic centre of Defence, or support to the Department's most senior decision-making forums through Enterprise Committees. As an Assistant Director in Enterprise Committees, you will be provided with the unique opportunity to attend decision-making forums with Defence's most senior leaders. You will lead a team to support senior leaders, manage actions and outcomes from committees, and provide strategic direction to the operation of key senior committees. As an Assistant Director in Enterprise Governance and Accountabilities, you will be responsible for the delivery of detailed and technical policy advice in relation to complex issues around compliance with legislation and administrative policy arrangements. You will lead a team to contribute to and develop governance reform in response to government recommendations. We are seeking a number of suitably skilled and experienced applicants who can demonstrate skill and/or experience in: Leading a high performing team; High-level stakeholder engagement (including cross-agency); High-level written and verbal communication; Sound professional judgement; Strong critical thinking; and Undertaking analytical work on papers, policy or decisions. About our Team Enterprise Governance is a diverse branch that works in the strategic centre of Defence. The Enterprise Accountabilities and Governance Directorate establishes and manages a number of enterprise level governance frameworks. These include: Accountability and Administrative Policy arrangements, the How Defence Works document, Defence Instructions, the Strategic Accountabilities Table and Defence-wide administrative policy guidance and senior committee evaluation. Enterprise Committees is a dynamic, high performing team who have the privilege of working directly with the Department of Defence's 'Top 4' leaders - the Secretary of Defence, the Chief of the Defence Force, The Associate Secretary of Defence and the Vice Chief of the Defence Force. The team enables critical decision making that occurs through the Defence committee meeting process. The Committees that are supported by the Enterprise Committees team are: Defence Committee - Chaired by the Secretary and the Chief of the Defence Force; Strategic Policy Committee - Chaired by the Secretary; Chiefs of Service Committee - Chaired by the Chief of the Defence Force; Enterprise Business Committee - Chaired by the Associate Secretary; and Investment Committee - Chaired by the Vice Chief of the Defence Force.
