Overview: VE Health, Safety, Wellbeing (HSW) Officer Full-time , Fixed Term position until February 2026 Salary Level HEW 6 17% Superannuation Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University About the role The College of VE is currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Officer to join the Planning and Resources team. This role will be responsible for supporting all aspects of HSW services across the College, with a strong focus on O HS services for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and P lacements. As the HSW Officer, you will provide guidance and high-quality customer service to both staff and students, ensuring a safe and supportive learning and working environment. You will play a key role in coordinating and participating in a broad range of activities related to the student lifecycle, teaching delivery, program and course management, and technical services—while also contributing to continuous process improvement and event support. You’ll act as a key point of contact for complex queries from staff and stud ents, and wil l be to maintain productive working relationships with members of the College of VE and RMIT Central HSW team. Please note: This is an on-campus role and requires regular travel between RMIT locations in Victoria, including external sites . To be successful in this position, you will have : Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Excellent problem-solving skills, including demonstrated experience developing and delivering complex written reports to a high standard and with a high level of attention to detail. Demonstrated knowledge and application of OHS legislation and regulations and experience in a multi-site environment. Demonstrated experience in providing high quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders and experience managing complex queries in a fast-paced, large scale environment. Proven significant administrative experience in planning, organising and prioritising work in a busy environment with multiple and conflicting priorities and competing deadlines.
