The City of Armadale is seeking a Senior Building/Health Compliance Officer to lead investigations, coach a small team, and support safer places for everyone. You’ll work across urban, rural, industrial and commercial areas — no two days are the same. About the Role You’ll take the lead on complex compliance matters, simplify legislation for the community, and ensure building and health standards are upheld across the City. Your day might include: Guiding investigations and enforcement actions with fairness and integrity Providing expert advice to builders, owners and internal stakeholders Supporting your team with mentorship and technical leadership Preparing high-quality reports and working closely with legal teams Representing the City in tribunal or court when required About You A strong background in building and/or health compliance, ideally within local government Comprehensive knowledge of the Building Act, Health Act, and relevant local laws Experience in investigations, enforcement, and preparing briefs for prosecution Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders Confidence in interpreting legislation and presenting in tribunal or court proceedings Ability to work with resilience, integrity, and a collaborative mindset What it is Like Working Here We are a values led organisation guided by our belief that we: Care Are Better, Together Learn & Grow Seize Today, Shape Tomorrow Joining our team means embracing a culture where we look after ourselves, and each other.
