Position Purpose Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, DT Construction is seeking two Leading Hands to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects while taking the next step in your leadership career. As Leading Hand, you will take a key leadership role on-site, combining your trade expertise with the ability to guide, mentor, and motivate a team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring works are delivered to a high standard, while acting as a critical link between site teams, supervisors, and clients. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and apprentices on-site. Read and interpret project plans and drawings with a high level of competency. Coordinate daily site activities to meet program deadlines and quality expectations. Mentor, support, and develop junior team members. Liaise effectively with clients, building supervisors, and other trades. Carry out all aspects of carpentry, from structural works through to detailed finishes. Oversee and assist with stick roofing and roof plumbing where required. Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures. Maintain tools, equipment, and a high standard of workmanship. Qualifications Carpentry trade qualification (mandatory). Proven experience as a Leading Hand or in a similar supervisory role. Strong ability to read and interpret plans and structural drawings. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Experience in commercial warehouse and high-end fit out projects. Solid knowledge of stick roofing and roof plumbing. Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and supervisors.
