Pet Care Animal Attendant - Casual At the Animal Welfare League of South Australia (AWL), we’re dedicated to connecting pets, people, and community. We’re seeking passionate and reliable Pet Care Animal Attendants to join our Boarding team and help provide a high standard of care for every pet in our facility. About the role As a Pet Care Animal Attendant, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the health, comfort, and wellbeing of animals in our care. Your day will involve hands-on animal husbandry feeding, cleaning, exercising, and monitoring animals, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring a safe, hygienic environment. This is a busy, practical role that suits someone who thrives in a team environment, has great attention to detail, and enjoys contributing to the daily care of animals. This is a casual role based at our Wingfield site. Key responsibilities Provide high-quality daily care to animals, including feeding, cleaning, and enrichment Monitor animal health and behaviour, reporting any concerns promptly Maintain clean and safe facilities following infection control procedures Support the smooth intake, handling, and discharge of animals Complete daily data entry and maintain accurate records Work collaboratively with fellow team members, volunteers, and other departments Represent AWL in a positive and professional manner About you Experience working with animals in a welfare, boarding, or related environment (preferred) Certificate II in Animal Studies or similar qualification (desirable) Reliable, professional, and able to work effectively in a team Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role Strong attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills Willing and able to work weekends, public holidays, as rostered Why join us?
