As our highly valued Senior Analyst, Operational Risk based in Brisbane or Sydney, You will support the business by providing second line oversight and challenge to ensure they actively manage, escalate, and resolve risks in accordance with our risk management framework. You will work with senior leaders in business, technology, and risk areas to manage BAU risks as well as major projects and change. You will also play a role in evolving how we use AI-enabled tools to strengthen risk identification, assessment, and reporting. You’ll make an impact by: You will work closely with business units throughout the Bank as an Operational Risk subject matter expert. The responsibilities associated with the role include, but are not limited to: •Operational Risk Oversight -Provide independent oversight and challenge to the Bank’s operational risk management activities. -Review and assess the effectiveness of the risk management framework, including through the review of controls assessments, issues and incidents. -Conduct independent risk assessments, controls testing, and scenario analyses to evaluate potential impacts on the business. -Monitor and report on key risk indicators, issues, incidents, metrics, and emerging risks. -Use AI-enabled tools to enhance risk analysis and insight generation. •Stakeholder engagement -Work across the Bank to promote a risk aware culture. -Act as a point of contact for operational risk related enquiries and issues, from the second line of defence perspective. -Translate complex risk insights, including those derived from AI tools, into clear and practical guidance for stakeholders. •Continuous improvement -Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging risks. -Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the second line of defence. -Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality of risk processes using AI and automation. -Support the uplift of team capability in using AI tools responsibly and effectively. -Participate in risk management projects and initiatives. Do things differently with us To succeed in this role, you will have: •Experience in Financial Services Operational Risk management. •A good understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk management. •Strong knowledge of operational risk management frameworks and methodologies. •Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, and how they can improve risk management, analysis and reporting.
