Business Analyst (Cyber Security Uplift Program) Contract: Until 31/01/2027 Extensions Location: Newstead (Brisbane) | Hybrid Working We are partnering with a leading Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Business Analyst. In this role you will work with the Cyber Uplift Program Manager and Project Managers providing business analysis services to Cyber Uplift Program (CUP). What you'll be doing: Elicit, analyse, document and facilitate endorsement of functional, non-functional, business, technical and control requirements across Cyber Uplift Program initiatives, with full requirements lifecycle management from discovery through to implementation and transition. Undertake business analysis activities to support delivery of cyber capability uplift across IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments, ensuring requirements are practical, traceable and aligned to delivery outcomes. Translate cyber risk, compliance obligations, security standards and operational needs into executable controls, process designs, system requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. Work closely across business stakeholders, project managers, cyber SMEs, enterprise & solution architects, security operations teams, OT stakeholders and delivery teams to bridge technical and business gaps and drive alignment on scope, priorities and delivery approach. What we're looking for? 5 Years of Experience proven background in complex BA roles, specifically delivering within cyber security programs or adjacent regulated industries. Demonstrated ability to map business needs to security requirements, turning compliance obligations into practical, executable controls. Stakeholder Management: Exceptional capability to facilitate workshops, drive alignment, and support decision-making among diverse technical and non-technical teams (IT, OT, and Cyber SMEs). Reporting & Communication: Experience preparing concise, executive-ready updates, reports, and presentations detailing project progress, risks, and decisions. Preferred Technical Experience & Skills: Deep experience in one or more domains such as Threat & Vulnerability Management, Identity & Access Management (IAM), or Security Operations (SOC). Practical experience supporting incident response processes, playbook uplift, or operational cyber response activities. Working knowledge of security frameworks like NIST CSF, ASD ISM, Essential Eight, or Zero Trust. Experience developing business cases, performing financial analysis (ROI, NPV, benefits realisation), and working within the Energy or Utilities industry is highly regarded.
