Data Engineer | 12-Month Contract | Brisbane in office role (5days) Cadence Connect is partnering with a Tier1 Data & AI consulting brand, right here in Brisbane. As a result of significant expansion and investment of their own client portfolio, we are looking to engage a strong mid-level Data Engineer for an initial 12-month day-rate contract. This role sits within an established engineering team and requires someone who can genuinely hit the ground running. This position will suit a hands-on engineer who enjoys building, solving complex data challenges, and contributing from day one in a modern cloud data environment. Day to day You will work closely with Data Engineers, Analytics teams and business stakeholders to design, build and optimise data solutions across a Databricks ecosystem, supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and data initiatives. Is this role right for you? Essential skills Strong hands-on Python and PySpark experience, particularly working within Databricks notebooks Solid experience utilising dynamic parameterisation across SQL and Python-based solutions Advanced SQL capability, including: Complex functions CTEs View creation Table creation and transformation logic Ability to operate independently and contribute as an embedded member of a high-performing engineering team Regarded skills Exposure to financial datasets, including areas such as ledger, reconciliation or financial reporting data Experience implementing or working with data masking and data governance controls within Databricks Exposure to Power BI and downstream reporting environments What's on offer Initial 12-month contract Competitive day rate engagement Brisbane based position Opportunity to contribute to a well-established data function delivering meaningful business outcomes This role will suit a technically capable Data Engineer who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and working alongside experienced data professionals in a delivery-focused environment.
