What you’ll be doing Reporting to the ANZ DevOps Lead you’ll be responsible for implementing automation initiatives dealing with software development and operations, improving communication, calibration and integration between the development team and infrastructure. You will also be involved in the following; Influence design efforts for the secure and scalable environments that satisfy both operational and product needs. Influence and lead efforts and processes for continuous deployment cycles. Drive resolution of issues identified via application and system monitoring. Resolve emergent service problems and build automated tools to identify/prevent problem recurrence. Perform hands-on automation tasks to treat infrastructure as code. Provide execution of activities related to infrastructure, security, continuous deployment, IT operations and metrics. Communicate with key stakeholders on infrastructure and deployment details. Essential: Tertiary qualification in an area of Information Technology and/or relevant experience Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Linux, Docker and Scripting languages (JavaScript/Typescript/Node.js/Python) Experience with using Ansible, Terraform, AWS CDK or other infrastructure as code tools. Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Proven ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions. Desirable: Experience in building and maintaining Kubernetes clusters. Experience in Serverless infrastructure. Experience in Data warehousing technologies. Experience in cloud networking technologies. Experience in running .NET applications in production environments. Experience with mentoring junior DevOps Engineers and/or other development team members would be an advantage What your impact and success looks like We expect your success and impact in the early stages of your career with us to look something like this: Within 1 Month Complete onboarding with demonstrated understanding of our key systems, infrastructure architecture, deployment processes, and on-call procedures Successfully respond to and resolve production incidents independently for at least three core services, creating or updating runbooks based on your experience Become the go to person for our main Australian system Within 3 Months Own incident response end-to-end for your assigned systems, including leading post-mortems and driving remediation work to completion Deliver at least two substantial automation or tooling improvements that measurably reduce operational overhead, improve deployment speed, or enhance system reliability Implement monitoring and alerting enhancements for critical services that improve observability, reduce alert fatigue, or decrease mean time to detection Within 6 Months Deliver a major operations project to production (such as: delivery of a new product/system, infrastructure migration, disaster recovery implementation.
