OVERVIEW: The Trust Accountant is responsible for managing trust accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting support, and property-related financial processes across the Property portfolio. The role ensures accurate reporting, compliance, and effective financial control to support asset and portfolio performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Reporting & Month-End Preparation of month-end reporting, including variance analysis and commentary Monthly forecasting and performance reporting Trust account reconciliations and integrity checks Depreciation schedule verification and maintenance (if required) Support for statutory reporting and audit processes where required Budgeting & Forecasting Preparation and coordination of annual budgets for review and submission to the finance team Ongoing budget tracking, updates, and forecasting Assistance with financial analysis to support decision-making across assets Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Tracking and reporting of CAPEX expenditure across projects Maintenance of CAPEX registers and project financial records Monitoring of approvals, allocations, and spend accuracy CAPEX reporting support for internal stakeholders and property management team Accounts Payable & Receivable Processing AP and AR and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness Monitoring of payment cycles and resolution of discrepancies Support in managing supplier and tenant accounting queries Property & Asset Finance Support Incentive tracking and payment monitoring across leasing and property agreements Coordination and support of variable outgoings audits and reconciliations Assistance with recoverable outgoings validation and reporting Additional Responsibilities Support finance and property teams with ad hoc reporting and analysis Maintain compliance with trust accounting standards and internal controls Contribute to process improvements across financial and property reporting functions CRITERIA: Relevant accounting or finance qualification Previous experience in Commercial Trust Accounting or Property Accounting Strong understanding of trust accounting principles and financial processes Experience with month-end reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, AP & AR Experience with Cirrus8 preferred High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication and stakeholder management skills If you would like to hear more, call Ryan Taylor, Jessica Platt or Pagan O’Donohue-Rogers on 0488 901 097 or, send your CV to pagan@castrecruitment.com.au Please note only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
