As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Practice Manager / COO to join the leadership team and help drive the next stage of their journey. About the Opportunity Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, this newly created leadership role will be responsible for translating the firm's vision into structured, scalable and high-performing operations. You will oversee the operational engine room of the business, ensuring people, systems, workflows, technology and commercial processes are aligned to support sustainable growth, profitability and an exceptional client experience. Working closely with the Partners, you will become a key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence, commercial performance and organisational scalability. This is far more than a traditional Practice Manager position. You will act as the operational leader of the firm, helping build the structure, systems and accountability frameworks required to support future growth while enabling the Partners to focus on client relationships, advisory excellence and strategic direction. Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Business Improvement Design, implement and continuously improve the firm's operating model Develop and maintain scalable systems, policies and procedures across the business Drive workflow efficiency and operational consistency across all service lines Identify opportunities to improve productivity, profitability and service delivery Ensure operational performance aligns with the firm's strategic objectives Workflow & Capacity Management Oversee workflow management across multiple teams and service lines Implement capacity planning frameworks across local and offshore teams Ensure work is appropriately scoped, allocated and delivered efficiently Monitor utilisation, recoverability and turnaround times Drive accountability across Managers, Team Leaders and key stakeholders Financial Performance & Commercial Management Manage operational drivers of profitability and business performance Support revenue conversion, production efficiency and margin improvement Oversee WIP management, billing discipline and debtor processes Assist with budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting Work closely with the Partners to improve pricing strategies and commercial outcomes Leadership, Culture & People Build and maintain a high-performing culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement Support recruitment, onboarding and retention initiatives Implement performance management and leadership development frameworks Coach Managers and emerging leaders Ensure clear role definition, accountability and career progression pathways Client Experience & Service Delivery Ensure a consistent and premium client experience across all touchpoints Improve onboarding, communication and service delivery processes Assist in resolving escalated client matters Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance client outcomes Maintain high service standards across the firm Systems, Technology & AI Oversee the firm's technology ecosystem and practice management systems Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies Lead AI and technology initiatives designed to improve productivity and service delivery Ensure reporting capability, system integration and data integrity Support innovation and continuous business improvement Governance, Risk & Compliance Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements Support internal quality, risk and compliance frameworks Assist with future growth initiatives, acquisitions and business integration projects Work closely with the leadership team to deliver on the firm's long-term vision Ensure the business remains operationally ready to scale Benefits Opportunity to play a key role in shaping the firm's long-term growth strategy Senior leadership position with direct access to the Partners Opportunity to influence the future direction of a growing firm High level of autonomy and decision-making responsibility Exposure to strategic planning, business transformation and technology initiatives Progressive and forward-thinking leadership team Free on-site parking Convenient inner suburban location Competitive salary package aligned with experience Requirements To be successful in this role, you will likely bring experience from a public practice accounting, financial planning, legal, consulting or professional services environment where workflow management, utilisation, service delivery and commercial performance are critical to success. Experience with practice management software, workflow systems and emerging AI technologies will also be advantageous.
