Estimator / Quantity Surveyor (Contract – 4 Weeks with Potential Extension) Location: Flexible / Hybrid (if applicable) Contract Duration: Initial 4-week contract with strong potential for extension Start Date: Immediate We are seeking an experienced and tech-savvy Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our team on an initial 4-week contract, with the opportunity to extend based on project requirements and performance. This role will suit someone who is highly organised, commercially minded, and comfortable leveraging modern AI tools to improve efficiency throughout the estimating process. You will be working across a diverse portfolio of construction projects ranging from $1 million to $100 million , providing exposure to a variety of project types and complexities. Key Responsibilities Prepare and develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost plans. Utilise AI tools to assist in building cost plans, particularly for generating and refining item descriptions and scope breakdowns. Apply a practical approach to AI-assisted estimating, with approximately 80% focused on efficient AI-driven drafting and 20% dedicated to checking, validating, and refining outputs . Upload tender and project documentation into EstimateOne (E1) and manage subcontractor communications throughout the tender process. Coordinate, track, and manage subcontractor quotations. Analyse subcontractor pricing submissions and undertake quote comparisons. Liaise with subcontractors to obtain clarifications, resolve discrepancies, and ensure complete and accurate pricing. Compile and build final cost plans based on subcontractor quotations and market pricing. Support the preparation of estimates and budgets for projects ranging from $1m to $100m . About You Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or Cost Planner within the construction industry. Demonstrated experience working on commercial, industrial, civil, government, residential, or mixed-use projects valued between $1m and $100m . Strong understanding of BOQs, cost planning, tendering, and subcontractor procurement processes. Comfortable using technology and AI tools to improve productivity and streamline estimating workflows. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with subcontractors and suppliers. Experience with EstimateOne is advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided. What's on Offer Immediate start. Initial 4-week contract with the potential for ongoing work.
