Happy Valley Water Treatment Plant is one of Adelaide's most important water infrastructure assets, and we're looking for a skilled Mechanical Tradesperson to join our team and help keep it running at its best. The Role Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, you'll be directly involved in the maintenance and operation of plant and equipment at Happy Valley. Working within Australian standards and SA Water policies, you’ll help ensure assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably — supporting the delivery of essential water services to the Adelaide community. As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and optimising treatment plant equipment and infrastructure to ensure assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably helping keep essential services running for thousands of customers. This is a permanent role with variety, purpose, and the opportunity to work within a high-performing, collaborative team. What You'll Be Doing Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment Executing asset maintenance schedules to maximise uptime and reliability Attending breakdowns promptly and implementing lasting fixes Accurately capturing and reporting maintenance data on the day of works Supporting your team and providing regular status updates to your Team Leader Communicating professionally with internal stakeholders and SA Water personnel Identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and cost outcomes Monitoring subcontractor works and maintaining strong supplier relationships Participating in a first-level on-call roster What You'll Bring A relevant Trade Certificate and Licence with experience in the industrial sector Proven experience diagnosing faults and repairing mechanical equipment Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and over the phone The ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team A proactive attitude and a strong eye for detail A current, unrestricted driver's licence Why Join Us?
