Operating under the BestDrive network, the workshop provides high-quality mechanical repairs, diagnostics, servicing, and tyre solutions for light vehicles and 4WDs. We are committed to delivering reliable automotive services with a strong focus on safety, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic to join our team at our Hindmarsh workshop. Key Duties The successful candidate will perform duties : Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines, systems, and vehicle components Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other mechanical components for inspection Checking, testing, and assessing parts for wear, damage, and serviceability Repairing and replacing worn, defective, or damaged components Reassembling mechanical components and engines after repair in accordance with service manuals and manufacturer specifications Performing scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and engine tune-ups to ensure smooth vehicle operation and compliance with emission standards Testing, adjusting, and fine-tuning mechanical systems and components after repair to ensure proper performance and safety Diagnosing and testing vehicle systems and components using electronic diagnostic tools and computer-based equipment Inspecting vehicles and, where authorised, issuing roadworthiness assessments or identifying repairs required to achieve compliance Responding to vehicle breakdown service calls when required Maintaining accurate service records, job cards, and repair documentation Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and manufacturer guidelines Skills & Requirements Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia Minimum 3 year experience in automotive repair or workshop environment Strong diagnostic skills in mechanical and electrical systems Experience using computer-based diagnostic tools Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship Ability to work independently and within a team environment Valid driver’s licence What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience and skills Full-time stable employment with consistent working hours Professional workshop environment with modern diagnostic equipment Opportunities for training, upskilling, and career development
