Collections Officer (Late Arrears) Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) – ASAP start Pay: $80,000 - $88,000 Super (based on experience) Location: Macquarie Park, NSW Work Model: Hybrid (1 month full-time onsite for training, then moving to a flexible hybrid schedule) About the Role We are looking for an experienced Collections Officer to manage a portfolio of accounts in late-stage arrears (31 days). Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will handle outbound dialer queues and inbound calls to negotiate payment plans, reduce delinquency, and help minimize financial losses. What You'll Do Day-to-Day Manage the 31-120 days arrears queue via an outbound dialer. Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, meeting set KPIs. Use active listening to negotiate immediate payments or realistic payment plans. Perform skip tracing to locate missing customers and update account details. Identify risk early and escalate complex issues or complaints to the leadership team. Ensure all actions line up with NCCP, Privacy Act, and Debt Collection Guidelines. What We Are Looking For Consumer Finance Experience: Solid background in collections, loss recovery, or credit within financial services. Skip Tracing Skills: Practical experience using skip tracing tools to track down accounts. High-Volume Capability: Comfort working with an outbound dialer in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment. Strong Communication: Excellent negotiation and listening skills, with the ability to maintain empathy while handling tough conversations.
