About the Position The Executive Director, Registered Organisations Services, leads the Registered Organisations Services Branch, which consists of approximately 35 highly skilled staff. The position is one of six Executive Directors reporting to the General Manager, who is the agency head and accountable authority of the Fair Work Commission (the Commission). A key feature of this role is exercising delegated powers and functions of the General Manager and President of the Commission under the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 (RO Act) and the Fair Work Act 2009 , and leading and managing the delivery of all functions relating to registered organisations. Duties Exercise delegated powers and functions of the President of the Fair Work Commission and the General Manager under the RO Act and Fair Work Act 2009 on a daily basis, including the conduct of inquiries and investigations into compliance with the RO Act. Deliver on strategies and operational activities to improve compliance and good governance in registered organisations, including through operational activities aligned with the Commission’s Compliance and Enforcement Policy . Develop and maintain the Commission’s investigation and litigation policies and procedures. Have an appreciation for the range of external factors affecting the agency, including relevant law enforcement considerations across jurisdictions. Provide expert advice and assistance to the General Manager and Commission Members regarding registered organisations. Establish strong leadership in the Branch that operates to maintain an effective, proactive compliance culture for registered organisations. As a member of the Executive Committee, assist with setting the strategic direction of the Commission. Shape the Branch’s strategic direction, develop plans and provide leadership to ensure operational teams provide specialist advice, support and assistance to internal and external clients in relation to registered organisation matters. Drive changes that improve efficiency and organisational performance in an evolving authorising environment.
