We are looking for a motivated Leading Hand - Operator to join our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at the Seaford Heights plant at a full-time permanent basis. This opportunity is ideal for a junior leader to take the next step in their career. Typical hours for this role is on day shift between 7am to 3pm with minimal OT when required. About the role: Lead front line team with the support of management to meet safety, operations and compliance requirements Operate plant machinery such as conveyors, balers. Sort, separate, and process recyclable materials Conduct pre-start checks and basic maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, visual inspections). Assist with manual handling tasks and material movement around the site. Monitor equipment performance and report faults or maintenance needs. Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and site operating procedures. Capability to safely operate loader and forklift equipment in line with site requirements Promote a positive team culture and resolve minor issues on the floor before escalation About you: Previous relevant experience in waste management or manufacturing Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong capability to step into a leadership role and influence positive change on-site Physical ability to perform required tasks (standing, reaching, bending, lifting, carrying) Loader and forklift license tickets would be highly desirable Flexibility to work public holidays or OT as required What we offer you: Full-time permanent opportunity Attractive rates Leading hand allowance on offer!
