About the business Located in Bassendean, close to Ashfield train station, Federal Sheetmetal is a West Australian Family owned company. The factory manufactures gas and electrical meterboxes and associated products for the building industry as well as custom sheetmetal work. About the role This is a hands-on role that requires manual handling of sheetmetal. You must be reliable, punctual, physically fit and not be afraid to get your hands dirty. Most of the work is of an assembly nature and operation of mass production sheetmetal machinery such as preset presses, benders, guillotines, spot welders and simple welding procedures. Working hours are: Mondays to Thursdays from 8am - 4:30pm. Fridays 8am - 2:50pm Wages as per Manufacturing & Associated Industries Award. Candidates must hold a valid work visa or have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position. Skills and experience Entry-level candidates welcome - we'll provide full training. However, experience with manufacturing equipment or basic welding will be highly regarded. Ideally, you will have the following experience and skills: Basic welding Factory work experience Experience in the use of hand and power tools Ability to work both in a team and with minimal supervision.
