The Role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as the Assistant Director, Schools Regulation. The Assistant Director, Schools Regulation will provide strategic leadership and authoritative regulatory oversight of government and non‑government schools, Student Exchange Organisations (SEOs), and schools registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) across South Australia, in accordance with the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000. You will lead the management of registration of schools, applications and complaints, ensuring decisions are fair, robust and focused on safeguarding educational standards and student wellbeing. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Assistant Director, Schools Regulation will drive strong regulatory performance, influence system‑wide improvement and provide trusted advice to the Director, Executive and Education Standards Board on matters of significance. About You With your blend of expertise, you will oversee the Schools Regulation function, ensuring that applications for registration as government and non‑government schools meet requirements under the Standards, and that registration reviews are undertaken within required timeframes under the Act. Your ability to build strong relationships with executives, across teams and with external stakeholders will be instrumental in advancing initiatives and achieving organisational objectives. You will also contribute to the development and continuous improvement of regulatory policy, frameworks and guidance, identifying emerging risks and trends to strengthen regulatory governance and system integrity.
