Assistant Venue Manager Kick Back Brewing Company Aldinga, Adelaide SA Management (Hospitality & Tourism) Full Time $70,000 – $75,000 per year Kick Back Brewing is an independently owned coastal brewpub in the heart of Aldinga, South Australia. Combining a working brewery, busy kitchen, live music and community-focused hospitality, we’ve built a venue known for approachable service, quality beer and genuinely good experiences. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to support day-to-day venue operations and help maintain high standards across service, organisation and team culture. This is a genuine hands-on leadership role with a strong operational focus. You’ll work closely with the Venue Manager while also being trusted to independently run shifts and oversee venue operations in their absence. We’re looking for someone organised, proactive and commercially aware — someone capable of balancing customer experience with operational accountability in a busy hospitality environment. About the Role This position combines: Floor and service leadership Booking and reservation management Customer communication Staff supervision and shift leadership Venue operations and organisation Stock control and supplier coordination End-of-night reporting and operational handovers A major focus of this role is maintaining strong service standards while supporting the continued growth of Friday and Saturday trade through: Strong floor leadership Excellent customer engagement Efficient staffing and labour management Consistent venue atmosphere and customer experience Effective booking and customer flow management Key Responsibilities Leading service shifts and daily venue operations Managing staff performance and service standards Monitoring staffing requirements and labour efficiency Managing reservations, customer communication and guest flow Coordinating functions and larger group bookings Maintaining venue presentation and operational organisation Managing booking systems and reservation requirements Receiving supplier deliveries and assisting with stock procedures Completing end-of-night handovers and operational reporting Roster & Hours Minimum 38-hour working week Five-day roster Wednesday to Sunday availability required Combination of opens, closes and open-close shifts Regular days off typically Monday and Tuesday Seasonal roster adjustments between winter and summer trade periods About You The ideal applicant will: Have previous leadership experience within a fast-paced hospitality venue Be confident independently running shifts and managing operations Have strong organisational and communication skills Be calm, professional and solutions-focused during busy service Understand labour management and operational efficiency Have strong attention to detail and accountability Be capable of balancing administration and floor leadership Genuinely care about customer experience, team culture and venue standards Have experience with booking and reservation systems (Now Book It experience highly regarded) This role is best suited to an experienced hospitality operator looking to step into a genuine leadership position with operational responsibility and autonomy within an independent hospitality group.
