Position Purpose The Hotel Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of The Playford Hotel MGallery during rostered shifts, ensuring the smooth coordination of Front Office, reservations, guest services, housekeeping, room service, food and beverage, functions, maintenance and security. The role supports the delivery of high-quality guest experiences in line with Accor and MGallery standards, while ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, workplace safety and guest satisfaction. Key Duties and Responsibilities Direct and oversee reception, reservations and guest service operations, including guest arrivals, departures, billing, enquiries, room allocation and special requests. Coordinate with Housekeeping to monitor room readiness, guest room standards, public area presentation, cleaning priorities and urgent service requirements. Liaise with room service, restaurant and bar teams to ensure guest dining requests, service issues and operational needs are managed effectively during each shift. Oversee coordination of functions, conferences and events held at the hotel, including guest movements, service timing, room set-up issues and communication between departments. Monitor hotel occupancy, VIP arrivals, guest feedback, complaints and service recovery matters to maintain customer satisfaction and brand standards. Provide guests with information about hotel facilities, Adelaide tourism attractions, restaurants, transport options and local services, and assist with bookings where required. Manage security arrangements during shifts, including guest safety, after-hours access, incident response, emergency procedures and escalation of disturbances or risks. Monitor maintenance issues across guest rooms, public areas and hotel facilities, and liaise with maintenance staff or contractors to ensure faults are reported and followed up. Ensure hotel operations comply with liquor licensing, responsible service obligations, privacy requirements, guest conduct standards, Accor policies and other relevant laws and regulations. Oversee daily cashiering, guest accounts, payment handling, revenue reconciliation, shift reporting and reporting of any discrepancies. Assist with rostering, staff allocation, team briefings, handovers, training and supervision of Front Office and operational team members during shifts. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures, including hazard reporting, incident recording, emergency response and safe work practices. Maintain effective communication between Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Maintenance, Security and senior management to ensure smooth hotel operations. Complete any other reasonable duties required to support the effective operation of The Playford Hotel MGallery. Skills and Experience Formal qualifications in Hotel Management or a related field, with at least 1 year of demonstrated work experience or 3 years of work experience if no formal qualification is held. Experience in hotel operations, duty management, front office management or a similar supervisory role. Strong understanding of hotel operations, including reception, reservations, housekeeping, room service, food and beverage, functions and maintenance coordination. Ability to supervise staff, resolve guest complaints and coordinate multiple hotel departments. Knowledge of WHS, guest safety, liquor licensing, privacy and hotel compliance requirements.
