This is a great opportunity for an HVAC Estimator to join a large national mechanical contractor with a solid pipeline of commercial projects across Sydney. The Role Reporting to the Head of Estimating, you will play a key role in preparing tender submissions for commercial HVAC construction projects. You will work closely with the PM team, preparing tenders while liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and project teams. The role offers a good mix of technical estimating, commercial input and site interaction, with genuine scope to keep developing your HVAC knowledge within an established contractor. You will review tender documentation, prepare pricing, liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, and help ensure successful tenders are handed over properly to the project delivery team. This role would suit someone with a trade, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or practical HVAC background who has already gained experience in HVAC estimating and is looking to build on that with a larger contractor. Key Responsibilities Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and technical information Prepare and submit tender pricing in line with project requirements Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and pricing Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors Assist with HVAC and mechanical engineering design input where required Manage the tender inbox and ensure inbound correspondence is actioned Attend site inspections and tender meetings as required Provide technical advice to project managers, supervisors and the broader team Prepare project information for successful tenders and support handover to the Project Manager Work to tender deadlines while maintaining accuracy, commercial awareness and attention to detail Experience Required Previous experience in HVAC estimating Trade qualification, mechanical engineering qualification, electrical engineering qualification, or equivalent practical HVAC background Strong understanding of HVAC systems, materials, installation methods and subcontractor pricing Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical specifications and tender documentation Strong planning, organisation and time management skills Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing tender priorities Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Clear understanding of relevant Australian Codes and Standards, along with OH&S requirements Why Join?
